An international delegation of the Christian Churches will visit the United States from 7 to 14 November. The initiative is being promoted by the World Council of Churches (WCC), representing 342 Christian churches (Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox) spread in more than 100 countries throughout the world. The delegation will visit the community of the Greek Orthodox Church, which is situated in the same district as the World Trade Center in New York and was involved in the collapse of the twin towers. It will also participate in a two-day seminar which will probably be held in Chicago. Then the delegation will proceed to Washington, for meetings with politicians and journalists. On the last two days, 13 to 14 November, the WCC delegation will participate in the general Assembly of the National Council of the Churches of Christ (NCCC), that gathers together 35 Churches, Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist and Orthodox.
