In the course of last week, the following legislative acts and communications, among others, came into force: · Regulation (EC) no. 2424/2001 of the Council, of the 6/12/2001, on the development of the Schengen Information System of the second generation (SIS II) (GUCE L 328/4, 13/12/2001); · Conclusions of the Council on a mechanism at the EU level aimed at helping to resolve the disputes between employers and employees that transcend the national level (GUCE C 354/1, 13/12/2001); · Regulation (EC) no. 2414/2001 of the Council, of 7/12/2001, amending Regulation (EC) no. 539/2001 that adopts the list of third countries whose citizens must be in possession of a visa on crossing the external frontiers and the list of third countries whose citizens are exempted from this obligation (GUCE L 327/1, 12/12/2001); · Common action of the Council, of 10/12/2001, relating to the nomination of the EU’s special representative in Afghanistan (GUCE L 326/1, 11/12/2001); · Third annual report in conformity with operational measure no. 8 of the EU code of conduct for the export of weapons (GUCE C 351, 11/12/2001).
