The Christian Cultural Movement has organized a series of events against child slavery in 30 Spanish cities, in commemoration of the anniversary of the murder of Iqbal Masih, a 12-year-old militant of the Front of liberation from forced labour in Pakistan. Iqbal was assassinated in 1995 by the mafia of the carpet industry. Child slavery affects over 400 million children in the world and is manifested in various contexts: domestic service, sexual exploitation, work in industry and in farming. The campaign has as its slogan: “For justice in North-South relations: don’t kill them”. The objective is to exert pressure on the national and international institutions and denounce the multinationals that use child labour in the Third World, urging citizens to boycott their products.
