In the course of last week the following legislative acts and communications, among others, came into force: · Framework Decision of the Council, of 13/6/2002, relating to the European arrest warrant and to the procedures for extraditions between member states (OGEC L 190/1, 18/7/2002); · Declarations of some member states on the adoption of the framework Decision (OGEC L 190/19, 18/7/2002); · Common position of the Council, of 22/7/2002, that supplements the common position 96/741/PESC relating to exemptions to the embargo on Iraq (OGEC L 194/47, 23/7/2002); · Decision of the Council, of 19/7/2002, relating to the consequences of the expiry of the treaty that established the European Community of coal and steel (ECCS) on the international accords concluded by the ECCS (OGEC L 194/36, 23/7/2002). The European Parliament is suspending its work for the summer break until 26 August 2002.
