The Commissions of the European Parliament are meeting in Brussels from 11 to 14 November. The main points on the agenda are as follows: · Decision to mobilize the Solidarity Fund for the victims of natural disasters (Budgetary Commission, rapporteur: Colom i Naval); · Campaign against AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in the developing countries: research programme (Commission for industry, external trade, research and energy, rapporteur: Caudron); · Exchange of opinions on the Programme “eEurope 2005 An information society for everyone” Followed by the Council of Seville (Commission for industry); · Recognition of professional qualifications (Juridical Commission and Employment Commission, rapporteurs: Zappalà and Stauner); · Higher education: cooperation with third countries “Erasmus World” Programme (Culture Commission and Employment Commission, rapporteurs: De Sarnez and Koukiadis); · Businesses Social responsibility, contribution to sustainable development (Employment Commission, rapporteur: Bushill-Matthews); · European Year of education through sport 2004 (Culture Commission, rapporteur: Pack); · Developing countries, education and training: objectives and priorities in the campaign against poverty (Culture Commission, rapporteur: Wyn); · Audition on the role of the means of information in candidate countries and in countries of the Stability Pact (Culture Commission).
