ue: in brief" "
The meeting of the Presidium of the Convention on 9 January defined the issues relating to European institutional questions that will be debated in the course of the Convention’s plenary session in Brussels on 20/21 January. A study document prepared by the secretariat was approved; it is aimed at reviewing the status quo of European architecture, though without formulating any specific proposals. The document brings to the attention of the members of the Convention some issues that regard the EU’s four main institutions, namely European Parliament, Council, Commission and Court of Justice. In particular, as regards the EP, discussion will focus on the number of MEPs, their representativeness and on electoral procedures.
