An unusual procession, concluding the celebrations forming part of the programme of events “Catholics with heart and soul”, will take place in the Dutch town of Utrecht on 7 June. It’s a procession of the relics venerated in the seven bishoprics of Holland and in the military ordinariate. The relics include that of the English monk Boniface, who died in 754; of the Carmelite monk Titus Brandsma, killed in the concentration camp of Dachau in 1942; of the missionary Peerke Donders, who worked in Surinam in the 19th century; of Liduina of Schieden, who lived in the 15th century; of St. Willibrord, patron of the Dutch ecclesiastical province; and of St. Martin. Papal representative at the celebrations will be the Belgian Cardinal Scotte. The procession of relics has also been presented on the website of the Dutch Episcopal Conference, www.rkkerk.nl, which has been renewed recently and offers the faithful a multimedia approach to the Catholic Church in Holland. Since 27 May the bishops report the online version of John Paul II’s encyclical “Ecclesia de eucaristia” has been available on the site. The printed edition will be issued on 6 June in the series “Ecclesial Documents”.
