Green light for the reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP), decided at Luxembourg in June: the deal was reached during the Council of Ministers of Agriculture, which met in Brussels on 29 September. As regards the co-existence of GMO and GMO-free products, the agreement prescribes that member states shall be responsible for regulating the matter: the Union would support for the time being the creation of GMO-free farm areas between farmers of several surrounding regions.
