The “Roman visit” of the new archbishop of Canterbury (and head of the Anglican Communion), Rowan Williams, will culminate with his meeting with the Pope on 4 October. Dr. Williams is visiting Rome with his wife Jane and close aides for an “exchange of visits” that is “a clear signal of the desire of the Anglican Communion and the Catholic Church to continue to work together towards the goal of full communion”, says a press release of the Pontifical Council for the promotion of Christian Unity.
