The Conference of the Justice and Peace Commissions of Europe – created following Vatican Council II – brings together the representatives of 27 European Churches to “promote justice, peace and respect for human rights”. The work groups set up within the Conference include one that supports the commission that is drawing up a report on human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A new group has been created for the peace process in the region of the Great Lakes; while the group involved in the drafting of the European Constitution, will also participate in the work of the Council of Europe on social justice and interreligious dialogue.
