The Episcopal Conferences of Canada, England, France, Germany, USA, Italy and Spain participate, together with CCEE, CELAM and COMECE, in the coordination group. 29/1-1/2: Opole (Poland), Meeting of the joint CCEE-CEC committee. February 14-15: Brussels (Belgium), Meeting of the CCEE work group on the safeguard of the creation. 20-22: Belgrade, Meeting of the presidents of the Episcopal Conferences of South-East Europe. Participating countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Greece, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania and Turkey. March 5-7: Brussels, CCEE Commission for immigration. 12-14: Rome, European Episcopal Commission for the media (CEEM). Internal meeting for the revision of the Statutes. 22-23: St. Gallen (Switzerland), CCEE meeting. 25-28: Baar (Switzerland), Seminar on the new religious phenomena. April 2-3: St. Gallen (Switzerland), CCEE Finance Commission. 15-18: Finland, Meeting of the secretaries of the “National Councils of the Churches”: an event being held “under the auspices” of the CEC. The CCEE will participate in the meeting. 17-24: Santiago (Spain, COMECE: “A pilgrimage for a united Europe”. On its conclusion: COMECE plenary assembly. May 8: Stuttgart (Germany), Ecumenical meeting “Together for Europe”: international meeting organized by the movements of various Churches. 15: Rome, Meeting of the preparatory Commission for the Africa-Europe Symposium. 21-22: Mariazell (Austria), Mitteleurop. Katholikentag (Central European Catholic assembly) Concluding pilgrimage and celebration. The Episcopal Conferences of Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary are involved in the event. June 3-6: Namur (Belgium), 6th Consultation of the delegates of the Episcopal Conferences on the safeguard of the creation: “Responsibility towards the creation in ecumenical and interreligious dialogue”. 10-14: Belgrade, Meeting of the general secretaries of the Episcopal Conferences of Europe. 24-27: Athens (Greece), Meeting of the press officers and spokespersons of the Episcopal Conferences of Europe. July 1-4: Strasbourg (France), Meeting of the delegates of the Episcopal Conferences for vocations. August 23-24: St. Gallen (Switzerland), CCEE meeting. September 16-19: Brussels (Belgium), Meeting of the national directors of the Episcopal Conferences for immigration. 30/9-3/10: Leeds (Great Britain), CCEE plenary assembly. November 10-14: Rome, Symposium of bishops of Africa and Europe: “Communion and solidarity between Africa and Europe”. 18-19: Bruxelles (Belgium), COMECE plenary assembly. CCEE: Council of the European Episcopal Conferences, it comprises 34 members; its aims include promoting cooperation between the bishops in Europe. COMECE: Commission of the Episcopates of the European Communities, it is currently composed of 14 delegate bishops of 14 Episcopal Conferences. CEC: Conference of the European Churches, it is an ecumenical organization composed of 124 Christian Churches in all the countries of Europe. It collaborates with the World Council of Churches (WCC).
