Forty-seven Europeans out of every hundred place work at the top of their concerns. That’s the result of a survey conducted by the Commission on a sample of 9,000 citizens in eight countries of the European Union. The finding reflects the recent Eurostat data, according to which the unemployment rate in the EU shows no sign of decreasing. Unemployment is followed by criminality (17%) and by questions linked to social security (13%). Uncertainties and difficulties on the labour market are the main anxieties for Germans, Poles, Austrians, French and Italians, while they represent a concern for only 5% of the British, who are mainly alarmed by immigration in spite of a growing unemployment rate and a weak social security system.
