“Stephen the Great bridge between East and West”, is the title of an exhibition being held in the Vatican Museums from 30 September to 31 October, to promote deeper knowledge of Romanian culture. The President of Romania, Ion Iliescu, participated in its inauguration, before being received in audience by the Pope. The exhibition has been organized by Romania’s Ministry of Culture and Cults, with the support of the Romanian Embassy to the Holy See and the collaboration of the administration of the Vatican Museums. The exhibition “will present the European character of the Romanian prince Stephen the Great, also called the “athlete of Christianity”, and promote a deeper knowledge of Romanian culture”.
