History, Constitution, EU policies: what to read? ” “

Europe is growing, and studies and research on the present and future Union are proliferating. Among the more recent publications we may report: N. Moussis, “Guide to European Policies”, European Study Service, Rixensart (Belgium) 2004, pp. 474. Moussis worked for many years in the European Commission; he is now professor at the University of Atlanta (USA). Among studies on the new European Constitution, signed on 29 October, we may indicate a new book by J. Ziller, “La nuova Costituzione Europea”, Bologna: Il Mulino, 2004, pp. 202. Constitutionalist, former lecturer at the Sorbonne in Paris, Ziller now teaches at the European University Institute in Florence. Constitutional issues are also discussed by the journalist P. Norman, “The Accidental Constitution. The Story of the European Convention”, Brussels: Eurocomment, 2003, pp. 407. On the process of European integration we may mention two new books: Marie-Thérèse Bitsch, “Histoire de la construction européenne de 1945 à nos jours”, Brussels: Editions Complexe, 2003, pp. 357; and W.I. Hitchcock, “Il continente diviso. Storia dell’Europa dal 1945 a oggi, Rome: Carocci, 2003, pp. 655. Lastly a new edition of De Gaspari’s writings on Europe has come out: “Alcide De Gasperi. L’Europa. Scritti e discorsi”, edited by M.R. De Gasperi, and published by Morcelliana.
