Msgr. Alojz Uran is the new metropolitan archbishop of Ljubljana. The taking possession of the new archdiocese took place on 5 December in the presence of the main institutions of the city. “I feel a sense of incapacity when faced by the awesome responsibilities of this mission said Archbishop Uran in his homily -. I trust in the strength and wisdom of God, in Jesus Christ our Saviour, who assures me, just as he did his apostles: ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide’ (Jn 15:16). The new archbishop spared a thought for those “who are united with us through radio and television throughout the world, or who are bound to a hospital bed, or confined to their little room or to a prison cell”. He also extended greetings to the representatives of the mass media, “on whom depends in large part the promotion of an atmosphere of cordiality between people in our country”. Recalling the words of the Letter to the Hebrews, the metropolitan indicated “the road of goodness as the strongest choice in life. I grew from this land, here the hand of God shaped me to be able to say to people that life is wonderful, if it is accepted as a gift of Love to be donated to others. Everything is possible for God, even for the wolf to dwell with the lamb and the leopard to lie down with the kid”.
