“Intellectual research as a way of meeting Christ” is the theme of the 3rd European University Day to be held in Rome on Saturday 5 March. Promoted by the Vicariate of Rome, the aim of the meeting is to raise the awareness of the university world in WYD 2005 in Cologne (11-21 August) through pastoral and cultural recommendations, such as the promotion of meetings and debates on the relation between faith and reason as indicated in the Message of the Holy Father for the 20th World Youth Day. Workshops of faith and culture aimed at examining the theme of WYD “We have come to worship him” will also be presented. Particular emphasis will be dedicated to the life and work of St. Albert the Great and Edith Stein. University Day will be concluded with a Marian Vigil of university students and staff presided over by John Paul II in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican, with satellite link ups with various European cities and capitals such as Lisbon, Madrid, London, Berlin, Kiev, Zagreb, Tirana, Bucharest and Bari. The meeting will be transmitted worldwide by the Vatican Television Centre and on the website www. universitas2000.org
