France: 30,000 youth with 85 bishops” “

Less than a month and a half before the opening of WYD in Cologne the French contingent can already count on 30,000 participants, accompanied by 85 bishops and 1000 volunteers. The figures are announced by a press release of the Social Communications Office of the French Bishops’ Conference. “The World Youth Days, introduced by John Paul II – says the statement – represent an event in which the young await a word of happiness. They are open to the Word of God and eager to experience powerful moments of celebration and unity. WYD is an event that prolongs and stimulates the work performed in the dioceses, in the movements and in the communities from which the young come”. The French bishops have placed a special WYD website at the disposal of all the young; it is constantly updated and contains the latest news on the German WYD: www.jmj2005.fr
