A European portal entirely dedicated to science, called Xplora, has been created. The main beneficiaries of the project are the young, who will in this way be able to learn science in an entertaining and offbeat way. The website is also dedicated to all those who are interested in science: teachers, students, scientists and research institutes. Within the portal it is possible to find an online library, games, simulations, tools to create communities online, spaces dedicated to chat, information on education in science, events and opportunities to participate in virtual laboratories and experiments. The Xplora project is run by European Schoolnet (a network of 28 ministries of education) and has been created thanks to the funding of the Science and Society Action of the sixth EU framework programme for research and development.
