Great Britain: "not in our name"” “

The British Muslim Council has issued a statement expressing its deep “consternation for the second series of terrorist attacks in London” which happened exactly 14 days after the first wave of bombings on 7 July. “Fortunately the criminals failed to cause serious damage, but we urge all our communities to have greater vigilance and to work together to preserve the peace and security of the nation. We must stop and defeat these criminals”. Again on the initiative of the Islamic organizations in the UK, a public relations campaign has been launched in the national press with the slogan “Not in our name”, dissociating the Muslim communities from terrorist actions and calling for the unity of the country. “We must remain friends, neighbours, and colleagues and help Great Britain to go forward”.
