After World Youth Day in Cologne, the archdiocese of Paris has decided to focus on youth by promoting a series of initiatives aimed at not squandering the enthusiasm that the WYD aroused in the Parisians who participated in it. The first of these ventures is a “Youth Guide”: 52 pages full of useful addresses, proposals and suggestions: parishes, hours of masses, volunteer services, chaplaincies, pilgrimages, movements of Catholic action, even communities for foreigners. “Diversity says the introduction forms the richness of the Church, people of God, and permits each person, according to temperament, to devote him/herself in the following of Christ”. Meanwhile, “Youth Day” will be celebrated in Paris on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September. The archbishop, Andrè Vingt-Trois, in a pastoral letter, appeals to the whole diocese to participate so as “to donate the faith we have received to as large a number of people as possible, and in particular to the young”.
