The archbishop major of Lvov, Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, inaugurated the “House of Divine Providence” of the Blessed Don Orione, apostle of the underprivileged, on Saturday 12 November. It is the first home of Don Orione to be opened in Ukraine and will be dedicated to activities of evangelization and solidarity. The opening ceremony was attended by the hundred or so youngsters who are being cared for in the new home. “At the beginning of October explains Father Egidio Montanari, director of the community of Don Orione in Lvov work began on the refurbishment of the structure of approximately 170 sq m that we have re-baptized House of Divine Providence. The work carried out is small-scale: redecorating the walls, putting in new windows and doors, renovating some floors and a lot of cleaning”. “It’s a small seed concludes Father Moreno Cattelan, who has lived in Lvov for several years planted in the Ukraine, but also a strong sign of the Providence that led us to this huge country to bear witness to the love for Christ and for the Church of Rome also through works of charity”.
