SIGNIS, the world Catholic organization for communication, is promoting a film seminar/review on the theme of the protection of childhood, now being held in Bucharest (17-20 November). “Looking at children” is the title of the event, which comprises a dozen films, of which seven have received prizes from ecumenical or SIGNIS juries for their quality in treating social issues. The review is aimed at film experts but also at the NGOs active in the field of the protection of childhood. Apart from the films being screened in the afternoons, a seminar is being held at the University Centre in Bucharest in the mornings, including debates on the mass media and the protection of children; cinema and the work of psychology; discrimination/integration, what’s the role of the media?
