Reformed Churches: towards a new union” “

“We believe that this new united reformed organization may be a blessing for the ecumenical movement as a whole and the reconciliation of the world”, write pastors Clifton Kirkpatrick and Douwe Wisser in a joint statement, announcing their intention to proceed to the unification of two great Reformed organizations: the World Reformed Alliance (WRA), which consists of 75 million members and represents 218 churches, and the Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC), which represents 12 million members of 40 churches. The new union – which was decided during a meeting held in the USA on 1st February – is due to be called “World Reformed Communion”.
