SPIRITUAL EXERCISES EVERYDAY. In 120 parishes of the Tyrol, Lent this year will be accompanied by “Exercises in everyday life” ( Exerzitien im Alltag). The project involves half of Tyrolean dioceses. It invites the participants to dedicate between 15 and 30 minutes each day to silence, reflection and personal prayer during Lent. The various phases of the spiritual exercises are described in an accompanying brochure. The participants in the exercises will meet together in groups each week for community prayer and silence, and to exchange their own experiences and give new impulses to the exercises. “The exercises in daily life represent for the individual the opportunity for a deepening of spiritual life”, explained Elisabeth Rathgeb, project leader, who also remarked that the exercises represent a “fundamental condition for the renewal of the communities in our dioceses”.
