The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Pavle, was admitted to the military hospital in Belgrade on Friday 14 April. An official communiqué of the Serbian Church explained that the Patriarch was hospitalized “due to his general state of health linked to his age”. Pavle is in fact 91 year old and already spent several weeks in hospital in Belgrade last December due to a fractured hip. “His convalescence – says the communiqué – is proceeding well”.
