Italy: meeting of the 160 Catholic weeklies

The extraordinary assembly of the Italian Federation of Catholic Weeklies (Fisc), marking its 40th anniversary, will end with an audience of the Pope on Saturday 25 November. “Catholics in politics: free or dispersed? Questions posed by the diocesan magazines”: that is the theme of the meeting that from 23 November will bring together the directors of the 160 diocesan weeklies from all over Italy that are members of Fisc. Altogether they distribute approximately a million copies per week. “I am really delighted, moved and grateful to the Pope who has accepted our request to be able to meet him”, said the President of Fisc, Father Giorgio Zucchelli, explaining that the audience “would magnificently conclude” the assembly which will also have the task of approving the Federation’s new statutes.
