“Lord, send forth labourers into your harvest” is the slogan chosen for the conference on youth organized by the Czech Bishops’ Conference. It is due to be held at the Pastoral Centre in Prague on 1-2 December. Some 60 representatives of religious orders and congregations, delegates of diocesan youth centres, confessional schools and the Movement of Catholic University Students are expects to attend the meeting. Monsignor Jirí Padour, bishop of Ceské Budejovice, youth delegate of the Bishops’ Conference, will also be present. The programme will include an address by Father Ján Kunír of the Society of the Divine Word on pastoral assistance to vocations at the national level. Kunír will also report on his own experience in Slovakia and Mexico. The experience of the mission in Brussels will also be examined on 1st December, as also various events linked to youth pastoral work: in this context, the preparations for National Youth Day, planned for the summer of 2007, will be discussed. The meeting is expected to be attended by at least 5,500 youth. The work of the conference will continue on Saturday 2 December when the delegates will split up into work groups. It will conclude with a eucharistic celebration.
