Bulgaria, Orthodox pray for nurses in Libya

The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria asked people to pray for the release of the five Bulgarian nurses that have been sentenced to death by the Libyan Court in the last few days: “We are deeply upset at this decision of the Libyan court”, reads the release. “We hope life, God’s most precious gift, will be defended in this difficult circumstance. We ask the priests and devotees to pray a lot for the release of the Bulgarian nurses, especially for the forthcoming Christmas and the Twelfth Night”. During the Eucharistic celebrations, special intentions will be added for the nurses in Libya. Special solemn prayers have also been celebrated on the occasion of the trial.
