“Condolence and prayer” for the victims of the motor-coach accident near Grenoble, in which a group of Polish Catholics lost their lives after visiting the Marian sanctuary at La Salette, were expressed by the President of the French Bishops, Cardinal Jean-Pierre Ricard, in a message to his Polish counterpart, Archbishop Jòzef Michalik of Przemysl. The cardinal says he is “touched by the tragic news” and his thoughts and prayers go to the many victims, the injured, their families and their home parishes”. “I pray God to accept the dead in his peace and in his radiance, to heal the injured and to give strength and hope to the families to overcome this ordeal”.
