Young journalists and the enlargement

In collaboration with the European Federation of young journalists, the EU commission launched on November 15 a competition for all journalists aged 17-27 with the purpose of “encouraging young journalists to reflect and express their opinions on EU enlargement to promote debates that will shape future Europe”. To the competition, open until March 1, 2008 can participate professional and free-lance journalists from Member and candidate-Member States (Croatia, Turkey, ex Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Fyrom), Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo) by publishing an article on enlargement-related topics in the period January 1 2007/15 March 2008. Expert national jurors will select the winners representing the 35 States who will be given a double prize consisting in a trip through the Balkans and in the publication of articles selected on the Internet website www.EUjournalist-award.eu where is to be found further information and registration details.
