“Celebrating Masses together! But where and when?”: from today the Catholic Church and the Evangelic Church in Germany are pooling their information on church celebrations for upcoming festivities on a new Internet site. With a press release issued simultaneously by the German Episcopal Conference and by the Evangelic Church in Germany, the faithful are invited to participate in the ecumenical dialogue. To this end a special page has been created on the Internet: www. Weihnachtsgottesdienstet.de Even if “going to church on Christmas and at the end of the year is a foregone conclusion for many, whether they are spending the Christmas holidays at home or are travelling”, the bishops write in their communiqué, doubts may arise about where and when religious celebrations are being held. But from today, for anyone interested, just by keying in the name of the place where a person happens to be and the feast day, it will be possible to find all the relevant information about the closest church celebration. On the web page information is also given on various aspects of Christian faith and ecumenical dialogue that will be further extended and completed from 2002.
