The EP met in plenary session in Strasbourg from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 December 2001. The main points on the agenda were the following: · Presentation of the programme of work of the Commission by its President; · Declaration of the Council and of the Commission on the meeting of the WTO in Qatar; · Community programme of action in the field of public health 2001-2006 (rapporteur: Trakatellis); · Solemn session: address by the President of the Republic of Korea; · Joint discussion on the space of freedom, security and justice; · Declaration of the Council and the Commission on the financing of aid to development and on the annual report of the Commission on the EU’s foreign aid (2000); · Solemn session: award of the Sakharov Prize 2001; · Prevention of conflicts (rapporteur: Lagendijk); · Relations between the EU and the Islamic Republic of Iran (rapporteur: Gahler).
