In response to the terrorist attacks of 11 September and the subsequent air strikes on Afghanistan, the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Joint Action of the Churches (Act) and the ecumenical Alliance “Acting together” have decided to set up a rapid instrument of consultation to facilitate the exchange of information. The Internet site www.wcc-coe.org “ Behind the news: voices of Faith ” has thus been opened, an electronic bulletin where it is possible to find a selection of declarations made by the Churches; information on the initiatives promoted by religious and interreligious organizations; and the texts of articles that review key humanitarian problems, such as the situation of refugees. The site is open to readers who can intervene through a discussion Forum.
