In the course of last week the following legislative acts and communications, among others, came into force: · Conclusions of the Council on the follow-up to be given to the White Paper of the Commission with the title “A new impulse for European youth” (OGEC C 119/6, 22/05/2002); · Audit Court Special Report no. 1/2002 concerning macro-financing aid (MAS) to third countries and the instrument for structural adjustment in the countries of the Mediterranean, accompanied by the Commission’s replies (OGEC C 121/1, 23/05/2002); · Decision of the Council, of 21/5/2002, implementing the common action 1999/878/PESC aimed at contributing to the EU’s programme of cooperation for non proliferation and disarmament in the Russian Federation (OGEC L 136/1, 24/05/2002); · Draft Directive of the Council concerning the entitlement to short-term residence permits to be issued to the victims of the abetting of illegal immigration and the victims of the trade in human beings who agree to cooperate with the competent authorities (OGEC 126 E/393, 28/5/2002); · Common position of the Council, of 21/5/2002, on the temporary acceptance of some Palestinians by EU member states (OGEC L 138/33, 28/5/2002).
