The Commissions of the EP will meet in Brussels from 3 to 6 June. The main points on the agenda are as follows: · Joint parliamentary assembly of the convention between the States of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific and the European Union (Commission for development and cooperation); · European space of education and training throughout life (Commission for culture, rapporteur: Van Brempt); · Development and new prospects for the European economic Union (Commission for economic and monetary problems, rapporteur: Randzio-Plath); · Joint meeting of the Commissions for foreign affairs and the defence policy of the Parliaments of the member states of the EU and of the European Parliament on the foreign policy of security and defence; · Medicines for human use: EC code of practice (Commission for the environment, health and consumers and Commission for industry, rapporteurs: Grossetête and Read); · Environment: public participation in the formulation of plans and programmes (Commission for the environment, rapporteur: Korkhola); · Public health: traditional plant-based medicines (Commission for the environment, rapporteur: Nisticó); · Role of women in an enlarged Europe (Commission for equal opportunities, exchange of opinions with parliamentarians responsible for such questions in the candidate countries); · Health and developing countries: rights in terms of reproductive and sexual hygiene (Commissions for development and equal opportunities, rapporteurs: Sandbaek and Sartori); · Health and rights in terms of sexuality and reproduction (Commission for equal opportunities, rapporteur: Van Lancker).
