The European Parliament met in plenary session in Strasbourg from 11 to 14 March 2002. The main points on the agenda were the following: · Declaration of the Commission World governance following the World Social Forum at Porto Alegre and the World Economic Forum in New York; · Joint discussion Guidelines for the budget 2003; · Joint discussion Energy; · Women and fundamentalism (Commission for women’s rights and equal opportunities, rapporteur: Izquierdo Rojo); · Declaration of the Council and of the Commission Enlargement; · Declaration of the Council and of the Commission State and prospects of transatlantic relations; · Major economic policy guidelines: situation of the European economy Preparatory report with a view to the recommendation of the Commission on major economic policy guidelines (Commission for economic and monetary problems, rapporteur: Trentin); · Juridical personality of the Union (Commission for constitutional affairs, rapporteur: Carnero Gonzaléz).
