The composition of the Convention’s Presidium has been finalized: Valéry Giscard d’Estaing (F), President; Giuliano Amato (I), Vice-President; Jean-Luc Dehaene (B), Vice-President; Representatives of the Governments; Ana de Palacio (E), Henning Christophersen (DK), Giorgos Katiforis (GR); Representatives of the Commission: Michel Barnier (F), Antonio Vitorino (P); Representatives of the European Parliament: Klaus Hänsch (D-PSE), Iñigo Mendez de Vigo (E-PPE); Representatives of the national Parliaments: Gisela Stuart (UK), John Bruton (IRL). On 22 February the Presidium of the Convention met for the first time informally (in absentia Amato, Stuart and Bruton) to discuss the organization of the Convention’s inaugural session on 28 February. The plenary session will be followed by a first session of work: on its agenda is the determination of the Convention’s timetable and regulation.
