The European Parliament met in plenary session at Strasbourg from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 January 2002. The main points on the agenda were as follows: · Inaugural session Announcement of the candidates for the election of the President; · Election of the President of the European Parliament; · Election of the Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament; · Election of the Questors of the European Parliament; · Declaration of the Presidency of the Council Programme of the Spanish presidency; · Meeting of the Conference of Presidents Definition of proposals for nomination to the parliamentary Commissions; · Sixth Community programme of action relating to the environment (rapporteur: Myller, recommendation for the second reading); · Agreement on ACP/EC partnership (rapporteur: Rod, recommendation); · Training and recruitment of seamen (rapporteur: Kauppi).
