In the course of last week the following legislative acts and communications, among others, came into force: · Explanatory report on the Protocol of the Convention of 2000 relating to judicial assistance in penal matters between member states of the European Union (Text approved by the Council of 14/10/2002) (OGEC C 257/1, 24/10/2002); · Auditing Court Report on the audit of the operational efficiency of the management of the European Central Bank for the financial year 2001, together with the replies of the European Central Bank (OGEC C 259/1, 25/10/2002); · (Five) Decisions of the Council that adopt the specific programmes of research, technological development, demonstration and training of the 4th Framework programme of R&D of the European Union (OGEC L 294, 29/10/2002).
