In the course of last week the following legislative acts and communications, among others, came into force: · Decision no. 1247/2002/CE of the EP, of the Council and of the Commission, of 1/7/2002, relating to the status and general condition for the exercise of the functions of European guarantor of data protection (OGEC L 183/1, 12/7/2002); · Recommendation of the Council, of 21/6/2002, concerning the guiding principles for the economic policies of member states and of the Community (OGEC L 182/1, 11/7/2002); · Communication of the Commission in application of articles 2 and 3 of Regulation (EEC) no. 3769/92 of the Commission, of 21/12/1992, concerning the implementation and modification of regulation (EEC) no. 3677/90 of the Council, containing measures aimed at discouraging the diversion of some substances towards the illicit manufacture of drugs or psychotropic substances (OGEC C 164/2, 10/7/2002); · Resolution of the Council and of the representatives of the governments of the member states meeting in the Council, of 27/6/2002, relating to the framework of European cooperation in the field of youth (OGEC C 168/2, 13/7/2002); · Report of the European Central Bank, of 7/3/2002, modifying report ECB/2000/7 on the instruments and procedures of monetary policy in the Eurosystem (OGEC L 185/1, 15/7/2002).
