Some 130 Romanian youngsters from the Catholic Churches of the Latin and oriental rites will participate in WYD in Toronto. From 18 to 22 July they will be guests of the diocese of Montreal, before leaving for Toronto on the 23rd. The Romanian youngsters will be accompanied by some priests and by two bishops: Aurel Perca, auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Iasi (latin rite) and Alexandru Mesian, bishop of the diocese of Lugoj (oriental rite). The two bishops will give catechesis in Romanian (from 24 to 26 July); groups of young people will help to animate these sessions, as also the liturgies. On the evening of 23 July, the young pilgrims will be invited to participate in a ‘Romanian Evening’, enlivened by songs and prayers, and organized by the latin and oriental youth of the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Aid in Toronto. It will be an opportunity for the young Romanian visitors to get to know not only the Romanian youth born to immigrant families in Toronto but also the Romanian youth from the diocese of Ohio in the USA.
