Festival of biblical theatre” “

A Festival of Biblical Theatre with 19 plays, 35 actors, 2 exhibitions and 2 round tables on this theme: it’s the second year of this event, held in recent days (until 23 October) in France, at Clermont-Ferrand, Ambert, Issoire and Chatel-Guyon. It was begun on the initiative of the “Culture and Communication” association. The Reformed Church, invited to participate in this Catholic event, agreed to take part in it. Numerous church movements and associations are also involved. “The basic objective of this festival – explains Damien Hubert, member of the organizing Committee – is to permit a discovery of biblical texts by presenting the ancient tradition of the medieval mystery plays and showing how relevant they still are for man in the 21st century. The Festival also wishes to work closely with schools to help diffuse biblical knowledge among children”.
