Finland: the Pope’s teaching is"Totus tuus"” “” “

We continue our report on thoughts and prayers from European bishops’ conferences for the 25th anniversary of John Paul II’s Pontificate. (See also Sir 68/2003). “Any reflection on the person and teaching of John Paul II must start out from his motto: ‘Totus tuus'”: so says Jòzef Wròbel, bishop of Helsinki, who explains: “this Marian invocation receives a trinitarian significance in the light of this pontificate. It expresses the total consecration of the Pope to God and to his Church. This spiritual experience has its direct reminiscence in the Pope’s anthropological and theological thought. In each moment and action of his life, man stands before his God and is obliged to express to him, from the depths of his heart, the Holy Father’s invocation: ‘Totus tuus'”.
