A document to commemorate the 25th anniversary of John Paul II’s pontificate, a planned European youth meeting at Santiago di Compostela in August 2004, and the request to the Holy See to declare Saint Genoveva Torres Morales “patron of the disabled”: these are just some of the topics to be discussed by the permanent Commission of the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE) now underway (until 25 September). Regarding the pastoral plan, the Spanish bishops evaluated the results of the national missionary congress and discussed the document “Let’s open our hearts” drawn up by COMECE (Commission of the episcopates of the European Union) on the responsibility of Catholics in the project for the construction of the European Union.
