A puppet-theatre of “evangelizing puppets” is touring Spain. A Basque stage company, Valivan, has devised the show, which takes its cue from the parables of Jesus to bring home the message of the Gospel in a way that appeals to children. It tells the story of the three parables of the ‘prodigal son’, the Good Samaritan” and the lost sheep, but thought is now being given to staging 13 parables and recording a show to be transmitted on TV. Young children are entertained not only by the marionettes but also by the presence of artists who interact with them during the show.
