At the invitation of Rabbi Israel Singer, head of the World Jewish Congress, nine French bishops left for New York on 23 February to meet with the representatives of the Jewish community and exchange reflections on the question of “tradition and modernity”. In January a group of 15 cardinals from all over the world was invited by Singer to speak with 30 rabbis about the First Commandment.
