“Seek peace!”. That’s the appeal made in recent days by Msgr. František Tondra, president of the Slovak Episcopal Conference, and by Július Filo, bishop general of the Lutheran Church in Slovakia and chairman of the Ecumenical Council of Churches. The appeal, addressed at all politicians, asks for political reconciliation to create a climate of peace and concord, because “only in this way is it possible to solve the problems of the country for the good of citizens”. “We appeal to you, representatives of the political parties and of the constitutional institutions of the State – declared the two Church leaders – to whom we have, as citizens of our society, entrusted responsibility for its government. Seek peace! It’s a precious gift of God that opens your eyes wherever it is blinded by neurosis, fear and preoccupations about power.
