Spain: "getting to know other peoples"” “

A project of cultural and linguistic exchange to get to know other peoples has been promoted by the Catholic University of San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), in collaboration with the teaching Centres of the Region of Murcia and the diplomatic representatives present in Spain. The event forms part of the 3rd International Day of charity and volunteer service organized by the Catholic university from 23 February to 7 March. The project entitled “Get to know other peoples” – its first phase is scheduled from 22 January to 5 March – is addressed at Spanish students and intended to foster their knowledge of the cultures and traditions of other countries. It comprises exchanges between educational centres and embassies, twinning arrangements, exhibitions, conferences, and so on. On 6 March the ambassadors involved in the project will inaugurate the murales realized with the tiles donated by each educational centre, on which the names of the various countries are inscribed. The programme of the International Days of charity and volunteer service includes an exhibition, conferences, and a solidarity gala. The inauguration will take place in Madrid on 23 February with an intervention by Cardinal Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, archbishop of Madrid. The other events will be held on the campus of UCAM.
