15,000 illustrated flyers against euthanasia in French, English, German, Spanish and Catalan: that’s the initiative of the European Federation that brings together the national associations of Catholic doctors. The executive committee of the Federation recently met in Barcelona, in Spain. Catholic doctors throughout Europe denounce the rise of a new form of “secularism to the detriment of freedom of expression and practice of the faith”, declared Josep Maria Simon, president of Catalan Catholic doctors in a statement to the Spanish Catholic press agency Veritas. During the meeting Dutch, Belgian and Swiss doctors reported on the current situation of euthanasia in their respective countries. Apart from the decision to print informative material, the doctors indicated, as a means to “combat the new secularism, the involvement of politicians of various parties on the key questions that regard life, the family and education”.
