“The heritage of Marco Polo trade round the world” is the theme chosen by 22 organizations and groups that are involved in development policy and participating in this year’s international trade fair in Berlin “Import-Shop Berlin”, a fair of culture and the arts and crafts in which many exhibitors from the southern hemisphere are taking part. For several years now, the organizations for development policy and for fair and cooperate trade have been presenting their projects with the help of images and texts in a special pavilion. They include the Catholic aid organization Misereor. It too will be present at the trade fair to be held between 10 and 14 November with a stand dedicated to the history of chocolate, its production and the life of the cultivators of the cocoa bean. The Berlin branch of the Protestant aid organization Missionswerk will also be taking part in the trade fair, with the presentation of stories taken from the recent book of Nelson Mandela dedicated to the fables of his childhood.
